High Roans Customer Comments

We used High Roans as a stopping-off point for our visit to Northumberland. Although we were there for just one night, Kath made us very welcome; nothing was too much trouble for her. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet -- just what you need for an overnight stop. And the breakfasts were superb. Definitely a b&b to recommend.

Thank you Kath for a wonderful stay in your home. The en-suite room was really comfortable and the view from the lounge/dining room is just stunning. We really enjoyed your hearty breakfasts,home-made porridge and fresh fruit salad. We chose Sedbergh for the circular walk taking in Cautley Spout and The Calf. We'll have to come back again because we could not see anything from the Calf in the mist. However, the clouds opened as we descended and we had wonderful views from Winder. Look forward to coming back.

Thank you once again Kath for a lovely weekend at High Roans. It was so nice to know that we were going to get a lovely, warm welcome, comfortable bedroom and delicious breakfast to 'set us up for the day'. Thank you also for booking our meal at the excellent Pheasant Inn which we very much appreciated. We'll be back!

Unfortunately I was unable to stay any longer than one night in Sedbergh at High Roans but I will certainly endeavour to return. Everything about the accomodation was first class, the rooms were spotlessly clean and well furnished and the breakfast was well prepared and delicious and the view from the dining room was really wonderful. Mrs Milburn was a host of supreme quality- nothing was too much trouble and I would recommend this bed and breakfast establishment to anyone- without reservation.

We received a warm welcome as we wearily finished the Dent Head to Sedbergh leg of our Dales Way walk, and a super shower to revive us. A most comfortable place to rest for a couple of days (and visit a bookshop or two). Stunning views from High Roans. Porridge to die for. Highly recommended.
